Wall Street has always suffered from the
occasional image issue. But in the first half of 90's, the scandals
and missteps reached epic proportions. Standing tall in the midst
of it all was 5'2" Mickie Siebert, the first woman member
of the NYSE. Stubborn. Unbending. Ethical. Tough. Smart. "The
First Woman of Wall Street" runs a discount brokerage. By
highlighting the ethical standards to which she adhered while
providing low cost transactions, Siebert gave a pretty good jab
to the sleaze set, and Mickie's business grew while many other
firms were struggling.
